On Saturday, November 9, 2024, the Faculty of Philosophy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) organized a workshop on Excellence in Service, attended by around 30 participants, including cleaning and security staff from the Faculty of Philosophy. Held at Hotel Platinum, the event aimed to improve the quality of service and professionalism in daily tasks, particularly in the areas of cleanliness and security within the campus environment.

The event was opened by Dr. Hastanti Widy Nugroho, S.S., M.Hum., Vice Dean for Finance, Assets, and Human Resources at the Faculty of Philosophy. In her remarks, Dr. Hastanti emphasized the crucial role of cleaning and security personnel in creating a comfortable, safe, and conducive campus environment for academic activities. “Good service is not only measured by performance but also by the attitude and professionalism in interactions with students, faculty, and the entire academic community,” said Dr. Hastanti.

The workshop aimed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the principles of excellent service, including professionalism, effective communication, and handling common challenges faced in daily work. Participants were given practical training to sharpen their skills in delivering optimal service at the Faculty of Philosophy.

Additionally, the workshop served as a platform to foster teamwork and enhance the motivation of the cleaning and security staff in their work. It is hoped that through this activity, the staff will gain a deeper appreciation for the importance of good service for the comfort and safety of the campus community.

The event received positive feedback from the participants, who felt helped by the new knowledge they gained. Some participants expressed that they felt more confident in carrying out their daily tasks and were ready to provide the best service for the Faculty of Philosophy, UGM.

The Faculty of Philosophy, UGM, is committed to continuing to provide training and skill development for all campus support staff to create a better, safer, and more comfortable environment for everyone.
