The Faculty of Philosophy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) welcomed a delegation from Universitas Samudra (Unsam), Aceh, on Wednesday, December 11, 2024. The visit facilitated discussions on the implementation of the Tridarma of Higher Education, exploring opportunities for collaboration in various fields.
Held in the Faculty Leadership Meeting Room, the event began with opening remarks by the Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy, Dr. Rr. Siti Murtiningsih, S.S., M.Hum. She expressed her hopes for productive collaboration between the Faculty of Philosophy UGM and Unsam through impactful joint activities.
“We hope for concrete collaborations, such as joint research or publications, that will strengthen both institutions,” Murtiningsih stated.
Prof. Dr. Ir. Hamdani, M.T., Rector of Universitas Samudra, extended his gratitude for the warm reception. “It is an honor to be welcomed by the Faculty of Philosophy UGM. We realize there is much we need to improve, and we look forward to learning from the experiences and excellence of UGM’s Faculty of Philosophy,” he remarked.
The meeting served as a platform to discuss the development of the Tridarma of Higher Education, focusing on education, research, and community service. As a fundamental faculty at UGM, the Faculty of Philosophy shared its significant role in providing a philosophical foundation to support various disciplines.
Dr. Murtiningsih emphasized, “The Faculty of Philosophy holds a crucial role, serving as a foundation for all faculties at UGM. Hopefully, this collaboration marks the beginning of a broader synergy.”
The visit underscores both institutions’ commitment to enhancing academic cooperation and fostering mutual growth in pursuit of excellence.
