The Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy at UGM, in her address, stated that the business world in today’s era should not abandon ethical values and humanity, as these are the main principles that must be considered. Ethics, as a branch of philosophy, provides guidance in efforts to improve the quality of entrepreneurial marketing. Moreover, the business world should not neglect social and cultural values; instead, it should synergize them with the socio-cultural context. Therefore, it would be beneficial if HEM collaborates with the business world through applied philosophy.

The Rector of Universitas Gadjah Mada, Prof. dr. Ova Emilia, M.Med. Ed., Sp.OG (K)., Ph.D, warmly welcomed the Faculty of Philosophy at UGM’s initiative to launch the Center for Applied Philosophy and Humane Entrepreneurial Marketing (HEM). The rector even mentioned this as a unique initiative because, in addition to focusing on the business world while still considering human values, it can also foster collaboration between various branches of philosophy and the business world. Thus, this collaboration will unite to achieve mutual benefit.

The launch event for the Center for Applied Philosophy and Humane Entrepreneurial Marketing (HEM) also included a public lecture from the CEO of PT MarkPlus Indonesia, Dr. (H.C). Hermawan Kartajaya, S.E., M.B.A, and Prof. Kim Ki Chan on the Relevance of Humane Entrepreneurial Marketing in the Post-Normal Era. The event concluded with the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Faculty of Philosophy at Universitas Gadjah Mada and the MarkPlus Institute, which contained four essential points: the Development of Human Entrepreneurship Marketing, Implementation of the Three Pillars of Higher Education in terms of Education, Research, and Community Service, Provision of Scholarship Programs, and Strengthening of the Independent Learning Campus Freedom Program (MBKM).
