A variety of activities have been planned to commemorate the 57th Anniversary of the Faculty of Philosophy, Universitas Gadjah Mada, with the main celebration scheduled for August. Among these activities is a series of sports competitions involving faculty members, administrative staff, and students.
“The focus of these activities is fostering togetherness, creating a moment to strengthen the bonds among all members of the Faculty of Philosophy as we celebrate our journey to this point,” said Dr. Mustofa Anshori Lidinillah, M.Hum., Chair of the 57th Anniversary Committee.
This year’s competitions feature three sports: volleyball, table tennis, and badminton. The volleyball and table tennis matches were held on May 31 and June 7, while the badminton tournament is scheduled for July 5 and 12, following the Final Semester Exams.
In the volleyball tournament, Team Staff A claimed the championship, with Team Students A securing second place and Team Staff B finishing third. Meanwhile, in the table tennis competition, Team Staff D emerged victorious, Team Staff A came in second, and Team Staff F took third place.
In addition to the sports events, the Faculty of Philosophy is currently accepting submissions for the Philosophy Essay Competition (PEC), a national essay competition for high school students, with a submission deadline of July 20. Other upcoming anniversary events include the Festival Karawitan and Bazar Karya Nusantara, which will take place over two days on July 20-21.
