The Faculty of Philosophy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) held a graduation ceremony for its undergraduate Philosophy students on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at the Faculty’s Unity Room. The event, attended by graduates, their families, and faculty members, was filled with warmth and emotion, as a form of appreciation for the students’ hard work in completing their studies.

In her speech, the Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy UGM, Dr. Rr. Siti Murtiningsih, S.S., M.Hum., expressed deep gratitude for the achievements of the graduates. “We, the entire Faculty of Philosophy community, are very grateful that your sons and daughters, entrusted to us years ago, have successfully completed their studies. This is a significant achievement for all of us, and we must be thankful together,” said the Dean in her address.

She also extended her gratitude to the parents and guardians for entrusting their children’s education to the Faculty of Philosophy, and appreciated the dedication of the faculty members who have guided the students throughout their academic journey. “Today, the faculty members have fulfilled the task entrusted by you, the parents and guardians, in accompanying their learning and growth process, which we have come to consider as our own children,” added Dr. Murtiningsih.

The Dean reminded the graduates that their journey does not end with their graduation, but instead marks the beginning of a new phase in their lives. “You have fought hard to complete your studies, which is a mandate from your parents, with great perseverance. We must appreciate that you have succeeded and completed this process excellently,” she said.

The graduation ceremony also became an important moment for the graduates to look ahead with greater confidence. The Dean expressed her hopes that the graduates would serve society with the knowledge and skills they have acquired during their time at the Faculty of Philosophy. “Graduating from university means you have passed one phase of life. After this, you will enter the next phase, which is to serve society with what you have gained,” she advised.

With enthusiasm, the graduates embraced their future, ready to contribute to various fields with the knowledge they have gained at the Faculty of Philosophy UGM. The ceremony concluded with a group photo, symbolizing the unity and pride in the achievements they have attained.
