The Faculty of Philosophy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) actively participated in the Community Engagement Exhibition held from December 10-12, 2024, at the UGM Innovation and Creativity Center. Organized by the Directorate of Community Service at UGM, the event featured booths from faculties and work units showcasing various community service initiatives, as well as small and medium enterprises (SMEs) from across Indonesia marketing their products.

At the Faculty of Philosophy’s booth, visitors were treated to a unique collection from the Nusantara Philosophy Laboratory, educational videos on philosophy, as well as posters and booklets documenting the faculty’s community service activities conducted by lecturers across Indonesia. The booth also highlighted the contributions of students, especially through the Student Activity Bureau “Sapiens.”

Staffed by enthusiastic students and administrative personnel from the faculty, the booth welcomed engaging dialogues with visitors. One notable guest, Richard Kraince, a visiting lecturer from Antioch College, USA, praised the students’ initiatives, stating, “UGM students’ activities are truly impressive!”

Positive feedback also came from Amanda, a student from the Faculty of Economics and Business at UGM, who remarked, “The explanations were detailed, and the display was engaging.”

The Faculty of Philosophy’s participation in this exhibition underscores its commitment to bridging philosophical knowledge with societal needs through diverse community service initiatives. It also served as an opportunity to demonstrate the relevance of philosophy as a discipline in addressing everyday challenges.
