A total of 262 students and 19 teachers from SMA Negeri 4 Bekasi visited the Faculty of Philosophy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) on the morning of Thursday, January 16, as part of an educational visit. Held at the Ground Floor Hall, this event aimed to introduce UGM and the Faculty of Philosophy to students preparing for higher education.

Dr. Rizal Mustansyir, M.Hum., as the keynote speaker, opened the session by presenting the history of UGM as Indonesia’s oldest national university. He highlighted UGM’s key strengths, including its commitment to the tridharma of higher education, academic reputation, and contributions to society. He also explained the university’s admission pathways, including available scholarship programs.

The session then shifted focus to the Faculty of Philosophy UGM. Dr. Rizal provided a comprehensive overview of the faculty, from its curriculum structure—which integrates theory and practice—to its learning focus. The career prospects for philosophy graduates were also emphasized, with opportunities spanning education, media, community development, and public policy.

The atmosphere grew even more engaging during the Q&A session, where students and teachers eagerly asked questions. The discussion enriched participants’ understanding of the importance of critical and reflective thinking.

The visit concluded with a group photo and the exchange of souvenirs as a symbol of friendship between SMA Negeri 4 Bekasi and the Faculty of Philosophy UGM. This visit was expected to inspire students to pursue higher education while strengthening the connection between secondary and higher education institutions.
