
The Faculty of Philosophy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) celebrates a significant academic milestone with the promotion of several lecturers, including the appointment of Prof. Dr. Rr. Siti Murtiningsih, S.S., M.Hum. as a Professor of Philosophy of Education.
This appointment increases the number of professors at the Faculty of Philosophy UGM to four. Previously, the faculty had three professors: Prof. Dr. Lasiyo, M.A., M.M. and Prof. Drs. M. Mukhtasar, M.Hum., Ph.D. from the Department of Philosophy of Religion, as well as Prof. Dr. Armaidy Armawi, M.Si. from the Department of Eastern Philosophy. With the appointment of Prof. Siti Murtiningsih, the faculty now has its first professor in the Department of Western Philosophy.
Prof. Siti Murtiningsih, who also serves as the Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy UGM, has made significant contributions to the development of Philosophy of Education. Her appointment as a professor marks an important step for the faculty in strengthening its academic position in higher education while enriching perspectives in the field of Philosophy of Education.
“This is our collective achievement. Hopefully, other lecturers will follow soon,” said the Dean.
In addition to the new professor appointment, several other lecturers have also been promoted in recognition of their dedication to academia. Among them, Shoim Mardiyah, S.Fil., M.Sc., Dela Khoirul Ainia, S.Fil., M.Phil., and Taufiqurrahman, S.Fil., M.Phil. have been promoted from Teaching Staff to Assistant Lecturer. Meanwhile, Dr. M. Rodinal Khair Khasri, S.Fil., M.Phil. has been promoted from Teaching Staff to Lecturer, and Dr. Iva Ariani, S.S., M.Hum. has advanced from Lecturer to Senior Lecturer.
These promotions reflect significant progress within the Faculty of Philosophy UGM, both in terms of teaching quality and the scholarly contributions of its faculty members across various philosophical disciplines. The faculty remains committed to enhancing the quality of higher education and research in philosophy, with the hope of making a positive impact on the development of knowledge and society.
With the increasing number of professors and faculty promotions, the Faculty of Philosophy UGM continues to strengthen its position as a leading center for philosophical studies in Indonesia. This achievement serves as tangible proof of the faculty’s dedication to producing outstanding thinkers capable of making meaningful contributions to the nation’s progress.
