The Faculty of Philosophy, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) organized a Training for Integrated Non-Communicable Disease Control Post (Posbindu PTM) Cadres, attended by 16 administrative staff members. The two-day training, held on October 2–3, was conducted in collaboration with the Health Promoting University (HPU) UGM and the Faculty of Medicine, Public Health, and Nursing (FK-KMK) UGM.
The training took place in the Ketuhanan Meeting Room and formed part of the faculty’s ongoing effort to promote a culture of healthy living in the workplace. On the first day, participants received introductory materials on HPU and Posbindu, assessment of non-communicable disease (NCD) risk factors, and practical sessions on anthropometric measurement, blood pressure monitoring, data recording and reporting, as well as safety procedures in Posbindu activities.
The second day focused on hands-on practice at the five Posbindu service stations, covering registration, risk factor interviews, physical measurements, basic health examinations, and counseling. Participants also carried out a health screening simulation involving faculty staff as part of their field practice.
In her remarks, Dr. Supriyati, S.Sos., M.Kes., Secretary of HPU UGM, expressed her appreciation for the Faculty of Philosophy’s initiative in taking concrete steps toward establishing a Posbindu unit within the faculty.
“We hope that Posbindu activities can begin soon and continue sustainably. Currently, free health checks are becoming a national trend, but UGM has long implemented such initiatives. Through regular health screenings like Posbindu, we hope everyone stays healthy and happy at work. After all, we all work for our families and well-being—so let us not let neglect of health become a burden,” she stated.
Meanwhile, Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy, Prof. Dr. Rr. Siti Murtiningsih, S.S., M.Hum., emphasized that this activity marks an important step in strengthening the community’s awareness of health within the faculty.
“We hope this initiative brings benefits not only to us individually but also to our role as human resources who form the foundation of the Faculty of Philosophy as an institution. Our sincere thanks to the HPU team for their guidance and support in helping us form a solid team to ensure that the Faculty of Philosophy remains healthy in body and mind, and continues to contribute to UGM,” she remarked.
This training was made possible through funding from the Sustainable Campus Action Grant provided by the University Quality and Reputation Assurance Unit (SPMRU) UGM. Going forward, the Faculty of Philosophy plans to conduct routine Posbindu PTM activities every two to three months, targeting both lecturers and administrative staff as part of its commitment to the health and well-being of the academic community.
