The Faculty of Philosophy of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) took part as an exhibitor at the Global EduFair (GEF) held on 6 November 2025 at the Gelanggang Inovasi dan Kreativitas (GIK) UGM. This participation formed part of the faculty’s efforts to broaden access to information about philosophical education and to introduce the relevance of philosophy studies to younger generations.
Global EduFair is one of GIK UGM’s initiatives that emphasizes collaboration, innovation, and the development of progressive ideas in higher education. Recognized as the first education fair organized by a higher education institution with an international scope, GEF offers a unique combination of a university exhibition and skills development activities through partnerships with various professional organizations.
Throughout the event, visitors were able to interact directly with national organizations, international universities, scholarship providers, and career development partners. The participation of the Faculty of Philosophy UGM received a positive response from attendees. Over the course of the day, dozens of visitors—predominantly high school students from various schools—stopped by the Faculty of Philosophy booth. Many of them came with curiosity about what is studied in philosophy, the career prospects of philosophy graduates, and the role of philosophy in addressing contemporary challenges in science and technology.
Faculty staff at the booth provided information on the curriculum, areas of academic concentration, as well as the academic and student activities that characterize the Faculty of Philosophy UGM. Visitors also received explanations about the development of critical, reflective, and analytical thinking skills, which constitute the core competencies of philosophy graduates.
Through its participation in Global EduFair 2025, the Faculty of Philosophy reaffirmed its commitment to engaging in educational spaces that connect higher education institutions with prospective students. This occasion also served as a strategic opportunity to strengthen public understanding of philosophy as a discipline that is relevant, adaptive, and plays an important role in cultivating critical ways of thinking amid the rapid advancement of science and technology.
