The Faculty of Philosophy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) held an orientation program for new Master’s and Doctoral students on Wednesday (5/2) in the Ketuhanan Meeting Room. In the Even Semester of the 2024/2025 Academic Year, the faculty welcomed 11 new students for the Master’s Program in Philosophy and 3 students for the Doctoral Program in Philosophy, who will commence their studies on February 17.

The Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy, Prof. Dr. Rr. Siti Murtiningsih, S.S., M.Hum., warmly welcomed the new students and shared some words of encouragement during the orientation. “Wishing you all success in your graduate studies. The Faculty of Philosophy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) celebrates a significant academic milestone with the promotion of several lecturers, including the appointment of Prof. Dr. Rr. Siti Murtiningsih, S.S., M.Hum. as a Professor of Philosophy of Education.

This appointment increases the number of professors at the Faculty of Philosophy UGM to four. Previously, the faculty had three professors: Prof. Dr. Lasiyo, M.A., M.M. and Prof. Drs. M. Mukhtasar, M.Hum., Ph.D. from the Department of Philosophy of Religion, as well as Prof. Dr. Armaidy Armawi, M.Si. from the Department of Eastern Philosophy. With the appointment of Prof. Siti Murtiningsih, the faculty now has its first professor in the Department of Western Philosophy. read more

On Thursday, January 30, a group of 270 students and teachers gathered in the 1st Floor Selasar Room to gain insights into the academic world, particularly in the field of philosophy. The event featured Dr. Rizal Mustansyir, M.Hum., as the main speaker, who provided a comprehensive presentation about UGM and the Faculty of Philosophy.

In the opening session, Dr. Rizal guided the students through the history and achievements of UGM, one of Indonesia’s oldest and most prestigious universities. He explained the various student admission pathways available and the academic advantages and opportunities that come with being part of UGM. A total of 182 students and 22 teachers from SMK Jakarta 1 visited the Faculty of Philosophy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) on Wednesday, January 22, to learn more about the academic world and philosophical thought. The event took place in the 3rd Floor Persatuan Room, featuring speaker Dr. M. Rodinal Khair Khasri, S.Fil., M.Phil., who provided an insightful presentation on UGM and the role of philosophy in various aspects of life.

In the first session, Dr. Rodinal explained the history of UGM as one of the oldest and largest universities in Indonesia, which has produced many national leaders. He also highlighted UGM’s strengths as an educational institution that continues to evolve, offering various outstanding programs and student admission pathways available to prospective students across Indonesia. He also highlighted various advantages of UGM, ranging from academic quality to its extensive alumni network. The Faculty of Philosophy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) has made significant strides in its 2024 Target Performance Achievements (TCK) report, as presented during the Faculty Work Meeting (RKF) held on January 17-19, 2025, at Hotel Novotel Solo. Out of the 35 indicators set, several demonstrated achievements far exceeding the initial targets.

One of the notable accomplishments was the number of collaborations carried out by the study programs at all levels, which amounted to 18 partnerships, doubling the original target. This success was mirrored by the percentage of active collaborations across all study programs, which reached a perfect 100%. read more

The Faculty of Philosophy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) held its Faculty Work Meeting (RKF) at Hotel Novotel Solo from January 17–19, 2025. This event was attended by faculty members and administrative staff, with key agendas including the Inventory of Programs and Activities for 2025, the dissemination and discussion of Performance Target Achievements (TCK), and preparations for the upcoming semester.

Additionally, the meeting addressed the development of thesis, dissertation, and research guidelines, as well as the use of the Outcome-Based Assessment Information System (SIOBA) and the Evaluation and Monitoring System (SIMONI). These discussions aimed to enhance administrative efficiency and support the faculty’s accreditation process. read more
