The Office of International Affairs and Cooperation of the Faculty of Philosophy, Universitas Gadjah Mada in collaboration with the School for International Training (SIT) Study Abroad organizes routine activities starting in 2009. The program is held every February and September. This program aims to introduce Indonesian Philosophy to US students. Through this program, US students will learn about Pancasila, culture, local wisdom, religion and Indonesian language.

On February 11 February 2019 there were 19 students from 18 colleges in the United States namely Saint Michael’s College, Cornell University, Knox College, Barnard College, Lewis and Clark College, University of Colorado Boulder, Duke University, Gettysberg College, Hamilton College, Elon University, Macalester College, Skidmore College, Tufts University, Emory University, Colgate College, Bates College, Georgia College and State University, and University of the South.

In addition to studying in the classroom, students also visit directly to several places related to lesson or material given such as Islamic boarding schools, churches, temples, and temples to study about Confucian religion. Students are also taught about some of Indonesian cultures, namely learning to make batik and dancing. While in Jogja, students live with foster parents during the learning period.
