On Wednesday, October 30, 2024, the Faculty of Philosophy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) hosted another session of its Great Philosophers discussion series, this time focusing on the theme “Don Ihde: Embodying, Interpreting, and Globalizing with Technology.” Held at the Reading Room of the Faculty of Philosophy Library, the event saw a high level of enthusiasm from participants.

Moderated by Ilham Perdana Lazuardhi, the discussion featured Ariful Fathoni as the key speaker, who explored the philosophy of Don Ihde, a leading figure in the field of philosophy of technology. The discussion delved into how technology is not just a tool but also shapes the way humans understand and experience the world.

Running from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, the session invited a wide range of thought-provoking questions from participants, including students and faculty members, enriching the conversation. The event provided a reflective space on the role of technology in everyday life while opening opportunities for critical dialogue about its impact on how humans embody, interpret, and globalize their experiences.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the discussion! Relive the exciting moments through the photo gallery below. See you at the next Great Philosophers discussion!
