The Faculty of Philosophy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) received a visit from the President Director of PT Pos Indonesia (Persero), Faizal Rochmad Djoemadi, on Friday (22/3). During his visit, he toured Archipelago Café, a co-working space and Entrepreneurship Laboratory established by the Faculty of Philosophy UGM with support from Pos Indonesia. He also engaged in discussions with the faculty leadership and greeted students participating in the Entrepreneurship Sharing Session held at the venue.

The Faculty of Philosophy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) invited one of its alumni, M. Ganiswara Afif Kharisma, to share insights into the entrepreneurial world with students. During an event titled Entrepreneurship Sharing Session held on Friday (22/3) at Archipelago Café, Afif recounted his experiences in learning about entrepreneurship and starting a business at a young age.
Afif shared that his interest in becoming an entrepreneur emerged during his high school years. He began experimenting with selling goods to earn extra pocket money. However, it wasn’t until his time at UGM that he delved deeper into the world of entrepreneurship. Although he did not major in a business-related field, he gained significant knowledge through student programs and networks he built on campus.
On 23-24 August 2023, UNESCO held an Ethics Teachers Training Course (ETTC) focused on AI ethics in Yogyakarta, in collaboration with the University Gadjah Mada.
The interactive event brought together 30 participants from various backgrounds and universities at UGM’s Faculty of Philosophy, to build capacity of professional lecturers on AI ethics, towards a responsible and inclusive AI technology for the future.
The theoretical part introduced global perspectives on ethics teaching, with trends, challenges, opportunities, pedagogy and psychology, and the philosophy of AI ethics in the Indonesian context of Pancasila. It presented UNESCO’s Recommendation on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence launched in November 2021 and adopted by 193 Member States, including Indonesia.
The Faculty of Philosophy at UGM (Universitas Gadjah Mada) and UNESCO have agreed to provide recommendations on the ethics of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Indonesia during a series of webinar events titled “AI Ethics in Indonesia: Contextualizing UNESCO’S Recommendation on Ethics of AI within Pancasila”, held on Thursday, 16th March 2023. This webinar is a continuation of references and basic research recommendations on the ethics of Artificial Intelligence based on the values of Pancasila.
On Wednesday, 12th October 2022, the Faculty of Philosophy at Universitas Gadjah Mada launched the Center for Applied Philosophy and Humane Entrepreneurial Marketing, which took place in the Meeting Room of the Persatuan on the 3rd floor of the Notonagoro Building. Present at the event were the Rector of Universitas Gadjah Mada, Prof. dr. Ova Emilia, M.Med. Ed., Sp.OG (K)., Ph.D, the CEO of PT MarkPlus Indonesia, Dr. (H.C). Hermawan Kartajaya, S.E., M.B.A, Dr. Mirwan Ushada, STP., M.App. Life. Sc, Prof. Kim Ki Chan, the Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy at UGM, Dr. Rr. Siti Murtiningsih, S.S., M.Hum, the Chair of the Senate of the Faculty of Philosophy, Prof. Drs. M. Mukhtasar Syamsuddin, M.Hum., Ph.D of Arts, along with vice deans, lecturers, and students.
