UGM Faculty of Philosophy Holds Its First Posbindu PTM as a Commitment to Community Health

The Faculty of Philosophy of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) held its first Integrated Health Post for Non-Communicable Diseases (Posbindu PTM) on 14 November 2025. This initiative marked an important milestone in the faculty’s efforts to strengthen its commitment to the health and well-being of the entire academic community.

The Posbindu PTM at the Faculty of Philosophy is the result of the faculty’s long-term commitment to fostering a healthy campus environment. Since the previous year, the Faculty of Philosophy has established a Health Promoting University (HPU) framework with seven active working groups, making it the only faculty at UGM outside the Faculty of Medicine, Public Health, and Nursing (FK-KMK) to have a fully structured HPU system. This model reflects the faculty’s seriousness in cultivating a culture of healthy living within the academic environment. read more

Faculty of Philosophy UGM Holds Posbindu Training, Prepares for Routine Health Screening Program

The Faculty of Philosophy, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) organized a Training for Integrated Non-Communicable Disease Control Post (Posbindu PTM) Cadres, attended by 16 administrative staff members. The two-day training, held on October 2–3, was conducted in collaboration with the Health Promoting University (HPU) UGM and the Faculty of Medicine, Public Health, and Nursing (FK-KMK) UGM.

The training took place in the Ketuhanan Meeting Room and formed part of the faculty’s ongoing effort to promote a culture of healthy living in the workplace. On the first day, participants received introductory materials on HPU and Posbindu, assessment of non-communicable disease (NCD) risk factors, and practical sessions on anthropometric measurement, blood pressure monitoring, data recording and reporting, as well as safety procedures in Posbindu activities. read more

Wayang Symposium at the Faculty of Philosophy Discusses the Urgency of Intellectual Property Protection for Wayang Arts and Puppetry

The Faculty of Philosophy, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), in collaboration with the Indonesian National Wayang Secretariat (Senawangi) and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, held a Sarasehan Wayang (Wayang Symposium) on August 22 under the theme “The Urgency of Intellectual Property Protection for Wayang Arts and/or Puppetry.” The event, attended by artists, academics, students, and the public, served as an important forum to discuss the protection of the nation’s esteemed cultural heritage in the face of modern challenges. read more

UGM Faculty of Philosophy Welcomes 164 Young Philosophers in Pionir Dialektika 2025

The Faculty of Philosophy, Universitas Gadjah Mada, officially launched its student orientation program Pionir Dialektika on Tuesday, August 6, 2025. This activity forms part of Pionir Gadjah Mada, which runs from August 4 to 16, 2025, and serves as the official welcoming event for 164 “young philosophers”—the distinctive term for new students at the Faculty of Philosophy. They were admitted through various pathways, including the National Selection Based on Achievement (SNBP), with 43 students from the National Selection Based on Test (SNBT), and 77 students from the Independent Selection track. read more

UGM Faculty of Philosophy Welcomes Parents of New Students

The Faculty of Philosophy, Universitas Gadjah Mada, held a Parents’ Reception for New Students on Monday, August 4, 2025, at the Faculty’s Hall. This event served as an important occasion to welcome the “young philosophers”—a term for the new students—and to strengthen collaboration between the faculty and parents in supporting the students’ educational journey.

The program followed a similar university-level event earlier that morning at Grha Sabha Pramana UGM. Parents and guardians were then directed to their respective faculties for sessions that introduced them more closely to the academic environment where their children will study and grow. read more

Family Gathering Enlivens the 58th Anniversary of UGM Faculty of Philosophy

A cheerful and warm atmosphere filled the Family Gathering of the Faculty of Philosophy, Universitas Gadjah Mada, held on Friday, July 26, 2024. Taking place within the faculty grounds, the event was part of the 58th Anniversary celebrations and was attended by lecturers, educational staff, students, and the extended family of the Faculty of Philosophy.

Several retired lecturers and staff also joined the occasion, turning it into an intergenerational reunion that strengthened ties of friendship and togetherness among the faculty’s community. The family spirit was palpable throughout the event, which featured a variety of activities including fun competitions, communal meals, entertainment, and door prize giveaways. read more

47 Communities and 27 MSMEs Enliven Karawitan Festival and Nusantara Bazaar at UGM Faculty of Philosophy

The Faculty of Philosophy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) once again held the Karawitan Festival and Nusantara Bazaar on July 19–20, 2025, as part of its 58th Anniversary celebration. This year, 47 karawitan groups took part, making the festival not only a lively cultural event but also an inclusive one, involving participants across generations—from children, teenagers, adults, to the elderly.

Of the 47 groups, 23 came from within UGM, including lecturers, educational staff, students, and Dharma Wanita. Meanwhile, 24 other groups represented communities outside the university, ranging from government institutions, local community groups, to general society. Some even came from outside Yogyakarta, such as the karawitan group KAGAMA, whose members are spread across various regions. read more

UGM Faculty of Philosophy and Globethics Hold FGD on Ethics in Higher Education

The Faculty of Philosophy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), in collaboration with Globethics and the Dharma Etika Madani Foundation (YADEMA), organized a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) entitled Ethics in Higher Education from June 10–13, 2025.

The FGD featured Meggy Kantert, an expert from Globethics with extensive experience in ethics education and responsible leadership at the international level. She led a series of intensive discussions and workshops with UGM lecturers and stakeholders to develop a framework module on Ethics in Higher Education, designed specifically for educators in higher education institutions. read more

Faculty of Philosophy UGM Graduates 29 Bachelor Students, 20 with Cum Laude Honors

The Faculty of Philosophy at Universitas Gadjah Mada held a graduation send-off ceremony today (May 28) in the Ruang Persatuan, following the university-wide graduation procession at Grha Sabha Pramana. A total of 29 students officially graduated, with 20 of them earning the distinction of cum laude.

The warm and emotional ceremony was attended by faculty members, administrative staff, as well as the graduates’ parents and guardians. A familial atmosphere filled the room as each graduate’s name was called to receive congratulations from faculty leaders. read more
