UGM Faculty of Philosophy Holds Communal Iftar to Welcome Ramadan

The Faculty of Philosophy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) held a communal iftar gathering on Tuesday (March 3) at the faculty’s courtyard. The event brought together all members of the faculty—from students to academic and administrative staff—in a warm and convivial atmosphere.

The iftar gathering is one of the faculty’s annual traditions in welcoming the holy month of Ramadan. In addition to breaking the fast together, the event featured a religious lecture delivered by Prof. drh. Agung Budiyanto, M.P., Ph.D., a professor from UGM’s Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. read more

UGM Faculty of Philosophy Sends Off 30 Graduates, 21 Earn Cum Laude Honors

The Faculty of Philosophy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) held a send-off ceremony for undergraduate graduates as part of the Graduation Ceremony for Period II of the 2025/2026 Academic Year on February 25, 2026, at the Faculty’s Assembly Hall. A total of 30 students were officially awarded the degree of Bachelor of Philosophy. Of these, 21 graduates (70 percent) earned cum laude honors, while the remaining nine received a “very satisfactory” distinction.

In her remarks, the Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy, Prof. Dr. Rr. Siti Murtiningsih, S.S., M.Hum., expressed appreciation to the graduates and their parents for their support throughout the academic journey. “Today, the sons and daughters entrusted to us several years ago have completed all their academic obligations and are officially graduating. This is a significant achievement for all of us,” she said. read more

UGM Faculty of Philosophy Holds Second NCD Screening Initiative, Promotes Health Awareness Among Academic Community

The Faculty of Philosophy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) held its second Integrated Development Post for Non-Communicable Diseases (Posbindu PTM) on February 13, 2026. The event followed its inaugural implementation at the end of 2025 and forms part of an ongoing effort to enhance health awareness and monitoring among the academic community.

A total of 87 participants took part in the program, marking an increase from the previous session. Participants represented a broad cross-section of the faculty, including lecturers, administrative staff, students, outsourced workers, daily staff, and canteen personnel. This wide participation reflects the faculty’s inclusive approach to fostering a culture of healthy living across the entire campus community. read more

The Faculty of Philosophy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) organized a workshop on Compulsory Curriculum Courses (MKWK) on February 2, 2026, at the Grand Rohan Hotel Yogyakarta. The event brought together lecturers responsible for MKWK courses as part of preparations for the upcoming academic semester.

The workshop aimed to align perspectives and enhance the quality of MKWK instruction through the development of Semester Learning Plans (RPKPS), as well as technical coordination for course implementation. During the session, lecturers discussed learning outcomes, teaching methods, and evaluation strategies to ensure that the learning process remains effective and aligned with the university’s academic standards. read more

UGM Faculty of Philosophy Workshop on Organizational Governance and Curriculum Addresses Lecturer Performance Incentives

The Faculty of Philosophy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) held a workshop on Organizational Structure and Governance (SOTK) and Curriculum on January 22–23, 2026, at the Marriott Hotel Yogyakarta. The event formed part of the faculty’s ongoing efforts to evaluate and strengthen organizational governance and academic systems in line with evolving policy frameworks and institutional needs.

The first day of the workshop, Thursday (Jan. 22), focused on SOTK and Lecturer Performance Incentives (IKD). The session featured UGM’s Director of Human Resources, Prof. Suadi, S.Pi., M.Agr.Sc., Ph.D., as the keynote speaker, with the Vice Dean for Finance, Assets, and Human Resources of the Faculty of Philosophy, Dr. Hastanti Widy Nugroho, S.S., M.Hum., serving as moderator. read more

Faculty of Philosophy UGM Graduates Four Postgraduate Students at UGM’s First Graduation Ceremony of 2026

The Faculty of Philosophy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) conferred degrees on four new postgraduate graduates during the Postgraduate Graduation Ceremony for Period II of the 2025/2026 Academic Year. The ceremony also marked UGM’s first graduation event of 2026.

The four graduates comprised candidates from both the master’s (S2) and doctoral (S3) levels. At the doctoral level, the Faculty of Philosophy awarded a degree to Setia Paulina Sinulingga. Meanwhile, at the master’s level, three graduates were conferred degrees: Felix Kris Alfian, Muhammad Satriyo Ulil Albab, and Syaifullah Aji Trianto. read more

UGM Faculty of Philosophy Holds Its First Posbindu PTM as a Commitment to Community Health

The Faculty of Philosophy of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) held its first Integrated Health Post for Non-Communicable Diseases (Posbindu PTM) on 14 November 2025. This initiative marked an important milestone in the faculty’s efforts to strengthen its commitment to the health and well-being of the entire academic community.

The Posbindu PTM at the Faculty of Philosophy is the result of the faculty’s long-term commitment to fostering a healthy campus environment. Since the previous year, the Faculty of Philosophy has established a Health Promoting University (HPU) framework with seven active working groups, making it the only faculty at UGM outside the Faculty of Medicine, Public Health, and Nursing (FK-KMK) to have a fully structured HPU system. This model reflects the faculty’s seriousness in cultivating a culture of healthy living within the academic environment. read more

Faculty of Philosophy UGM Holds Posbindu Training, Prepares for Routine Health Screening Program

The Faculty of Philosophy, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) organized a Training for Integrated Non-Communicable Disease Control Post (Posbindu PTM) Cadres, attended by 16 administrative staff members. The two-day training, held on October 2–3, was conducted in collaboration with the Health Promoting University (HPU) UGM and the Faculty of Medicine, Public Health, and Nursing (FK-KMK) UGM.

The training took place in the Ketuhanan Meeting Room and formed part of the faculty’s ongoing effort to promote a culture of healthy living in the workplace. On the first day, participants received introductory materials on HPU and Posbindu, assessment of non-communicable disease (NCD) risk factors, and practical sessions on anthropometric measurement, blood pressure monitoring, data recording and reporting, as well as safety procedures in Posbindu activities. read more

The Faculty of Philosophy, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), in collaboration with the Indonesian National Wayang Secretariat (Senawangi) and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, held a Sarasehan Wayang (Wayang Symposium) on August 22 under the theme “The Urgency of Intellectual Property Protection for Wayang Arts and/or Puppetry.” The event, attended by artists, academics, students, and the public, served as an important forum to discuss the protection of the nation’s esteemed cultural heritage in the face of modern challenges. read more
