SMA Negeri 8 Depok Visits Faculty of Philosophy UGM to Learn More About Higher Education

The Faculty of Philosophy, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), welcomed a delegation from SMA Negeri 8 Depok on Tuesday morning. Held in the Persatuan Room, 3rd Floor, the event was attended by 150 students and teachers, aiming to provide an in-depth introduction to UGM and the Faculty of Philosophy.

Dr. Rizal Mustansyir, M.Hum., as the main speaker, opened the session by introducing UGM’s long history as an educational institution dedicated to community service and the development of national leaders. He also highlighted UGM’s strengths, including its international reputation and fair, inclusive student admission pathways. read more

SMA Negeri 1 Pamarayan Serang Visits UGM’s Faculty of Philosophy

A total of 218 students and 30 accompanying teachers from SMA Negeri 1 Pamarayan, Serang Regency, Banten, visited the Faculty of Philosophy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) on Thursday afternoon. The event took place in the First Floor Hall of the Faculty of Philosophy, starting at 1:00 PM, with Dr. Rizal Mustansyir as the guest speaker.

The visit began with a warm welcome from the Faculty of Philosophy, followed by a brief introduction to the faculty’s vision and mission to nurture critical and reflective young minds. In his presentation, Dr. Rizal Mustansyir provided an overview of UGM’s history as Indonesia’s first national university, which has played a pivotal role in education and nation-building. The visit was attended by 249 students and 18 accompanying teachers, all eager to learn more about UGM and the Faculty of Philosophy.

The event began at 9:00 AM with a brief opening by the moderator, followed by an insightful presentation by Dr. Rizal Mustansyir. Uckerman from Durham University, United Kingdom, as the keynote speaker. It marked the culmination of a series of lectures, following two earlier sessions on January 6, which covered the topics “History of Logic” and “Fiction Writing as Philosophical Methodology”.

UGM Faculty of Philosophy Shares Best Practices in MKWK and Religious Moderation with ITB Delegates

The Faculty of Philosophy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) hosted a visit from lecturers and administrative staff from Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) on Wednesday, December 11, 2024. The visit facilitated discussions and knowledge-sharing on the management of mandatory curriculum courses (MKWK), particularly Pancasila and Citizenship, as well as the implementation of the Religious Moderation and National Defense House program led by UGM’s Faculty of Philosophy.

The event opened with a welcome address by the Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy, Dr. Rr. Siti Murtiningsih, S.S., M.Hum., who expressed appreciation for ITB’s visit.
