Faculty of Philosophy UGM Welcomes Visit from SMAN 1 Bangorejo Banyuwangi

On Thursday, November 14, 2024, the Faculty of Philosophy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) warmly welcomed a visit from SMAN 1 Bangorejo Banyuwangi. The visit involved 210 students and 18 accompanying teachers, who participated in the event from 08:00 to 09:00 WIB in the Selasar Room on the first floor.

During the event, Dr. Heri Santoso, M.Hum., a lecturer at the Faculty of Philosophy UGM, gave a presentation about the advantages of UGM, as well as detailed information about the Faculty of Philosophy. This included the programs offered and the faculty’s contributions to both the academic and social spheres. The discussion also provided essential information about new student admissions and tips on selecting the right academic program, helping the students prepare better for their future studies. read more

UNIDA Gontor Students Learn about the Relationship Between Religion and Science at the Faculty of Philosophy UGM

On Tuesday, November 12, 2024, the Faculty of Philosophy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) welcomed a visit from the Aqidah Philosophy Department of the Faculty of Ushuluddin at Universitas Darussalam (UNIDA) Gontor. Around 70 students and accompanying lecturers from UNIDA Gontor attended the visit, which aimed to expand academic knowledge and strengthen collaboration between the two higher education institutions, particularly in the fields of philosophy and religion.

The event took place in the Persatuan Room on the third floor of the Faculty of Philosophy UGM. During the visit, the UNIDA Gontor students participated in a public lecture and interactive discussion on the intriguing topic of the relationship between religion and science and technology (saintek). read more

SMA Negeri 2 Kuta Bali Visits the Faculty of Philosophy UGM

On Friday, November 8, 2024, the Faculty of Philosophy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) welcomed a visit from SMA Negeri 2 Kuta Bali. A total of 65 students and 6 accompanying teachers attended the event at the Persatuan Room on the third floor to gain a deeper understanding of higher education and academic life at the Faculty of Philosophy UGM.

During this visit, Dr. Heri Santoso, a lecturer at the Faculty of Philosophy, served as the main speaker, providing valuable insights into the history of UGM, the strengths of the Faculty of Philosophy, and the various programs offered. SMK Kristen IPEKA Grand Wisata Visits the Faculty of Philosophy UGM

A total of 54 students and accompanying teachers gathered in the Persatuan Room on the third floor to gain a deeper understanding of philosophy and academic life at UGM.

The event was led by Taufiqurrahman, S.Fil., M.Phil, a lecturer at the Faculty of Philosophy, who provided an insightful explanation about the history, vision, and programs offered by the Faculty of Philosophy, as well as the opportunities available to philosophy students. The event featured an engaging presentation by Rangga Kala Mahaswa, S.Fil., M.Phil., a lecturer at the Faculty of Philosophy UGM. He provided insights into UGM’s academic programs, shared his academic journey, and emphasized the importance of philosophy in everyday life. Students from Various Countries Learn Pancasila and Nusantara Culture at UGM’s Faculty of Philosophy

Twelve students from various countries participated in a two-week study program at the Faculty of Philosophy, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), through the School of International Training (SIT) Study Abroad program. Held from October 7 to 17, 2024, the program carried the theme “Arts, Religion, and Social Change,” guiding students to explore the arts and religions that shape the socio-cultural discourse in Indonesia.

“We hope there will be engaging and beneficial discussions for the students, both for SIT participants and our own students, especially on the important topics covered,” said Dr. Iva Ariani, S.S., M.Hum., Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, Cooperation, and Alumni at the Faculty of Philosophy. read more

Community and Faculty of Philosophy UGM Collaborate to Strengthen Religiosity Based on Local Wisdom in Purbalingga

The Faculty of Philosophy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) has once again demonstrated its commitment to contributing to society through a service program focused on strengthening religiosity based on local wisdom.

The program was carried out in Tawangsari Village, Purbalingga Regency, Central Java, on July 18, under the title “Synergy Between the Community and the Faculty of Philosophy UGM in Strengthening Religiosity Based on Local Wisdom in Tawangsari Village, Purbalingga, Central Java.”

“People of Tawangsari possess strong religious character. Strengthening Pancasila and Citizenship Education in Higher Education, Faculty of Philosophy Hosts Training for MKWK Lecturers Across Indonesia

The Faculty of Philosophy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), through its Unit for Managing Mandatory Curriculum Courses (MKWK), in collaboration with the Association of MKWK Institutions and Lecturers Across Indonesia (AKD MKWK SI), held a training session for lecturers and prospective lecturers of Pancasila and Citizenship Education from August 9 to 10, 2024. The event was attended by 88 participants from 40 universities across Indonesia.

The goal of the training was to equip MKWK lecturers and prospective lecturers with the skills to develop lesson plans that are relevant to the challenges of the times and align with national education standards. This event also highlighted UGM’s, especially the Faculty of Philosophy’s, commitment to advancing Pancasila and Citizenship Education, which are vital in shaping the character of students in Indonesia. read more

UGM Faculty of Philosophy Collaborates with Temanggung Regency Government to Revive Gamelan Art

To revive noble cultural values through the art of gamelan, the Faculty of Philosophy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), in collaboration with the Temanggung Regency’s Department of Culture and Tourism, hosted the Temanggung Gamelan Festival 2024. The event, held on Friday (July 26) at the Sasana Budaya Bumi Phala Maron in Temanggung, featured ten gamelan groups representing various communities and age groups.

The festival is part of the Faculty of Philosophy’s community service program, following the Gamelan Festival held on July 20-21, 2024, as part of the 57th anniversary of the faculty. Faculty of Philosophy Holds Two-Day Gamelan Festival, Featuring 47 Gamelan Groups from Yogyakarta

The Gamelan Festival was held on July 20-21, 2024, as part of the 57th anniversary celebrations of the Faculty of Philosophy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM). The festival featured 47 gamelan groups from various UGM units and community groups across the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY). Alongside the festival, a batik exhibition and a traditional snacks market were organized, involving twenty micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (UMKM).

“In this festival, we are not only celebrating the long journey of the Faculty of Philosophy, which is turning 57 years old this year. This event serves as a convergence point for all community elements, not only UGM but also the surrounding environment,” said Dr. Rr. Siti Murtiningsih, S.S., M.Hum., Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy, during the festival’s opening ceremony on Saturday (July 20). read more
